DJ Jon
Hi, I'm Jon and I'm from Valparaiso, Indiana. I attended Purdue University and while I was living at Wiley Hall, I got involved with their radio station called WILY Radio. This is where I got my start in the DJ world.
I began as a roadie, moving equipment and helping the head DJ with his music selections. I got my "trial by fire" one night when I was the only DJ available for one of the dances and I rocked the party.
From there on, I was hooked.
I eventually became the General Manager at the radio station, which involved scheduling events and training new DJs. After my time with WILY was done, I founded AMP Indiana with Anna.
My parents raised me on 70s & 80s classic rock and hairband rock. In fact, I've been told stories about my dad playing Ted Nugent tunes to me while I was in untero! I was also exposed to a lot of blues and jazz from living near Chicago. My favorite musical artists include Rush, Ted Nugent, Bruce Springsteen, AC/DC, Jimmy Buffett, Aerosmith, and Van Halen.
