DJ Anna
DJ Anna Pentikis is the owner and co-founder of AMP Indiana. She was born and raised in Waltham, Massachusetts, a suburb of Boston. A second-generation DJ, she was apprenticed in the trade by her father from the age of 8. She performed on her own for the first time when she was 12 and continued to work for him through college. She attended Purdue University where she became involved with WILY Radio as a radio DJ, and eventually, as a member of their mobile crew. She continued to work with WILY as an alum until the Fall of 2006. In May of 2007, she founded AMP Indiana.
Growing up, DJ Anna had an exposure to classical and jazz music through playing the clarinet. She was raised learning about everything from doo-wop through the psychedelic era and Motown from her parents. She also has a background in world music through her Greek heritage.
DJ Jon
DJ Jon McDonald hails from Valparaiso, Indiana. He also attended Purdue University and was involved with WILY Radio, as a DJ, General Manager, and Mentor. His love of the mobile DJ business and technology brought him to join AMP Indiana as an MC and DJ.
DJ Jon grew up with classic rock and 80s rock. He was also exposed to a lot of blues and jazz from living near Chicago.
Both DJs experienced the rise of alternative rock and the emergence of hip-hop and rap into the mainstream. They continue to observe today's music as it evolves, from Top 40 to the resurgence of old-school hip-hop and 80s pop rock.
