DJ Anna
I am a second-generation DJ from Waltham, Massachusetts. I was apprenticed in the trade by my father from the age of 8 and my first solo performance was at a church festival when I was 12; I handled the setup inside the church and my dad took care of the second setup outside.
I continued to assist him DJing wedding receptions and other parties through college.
In 2001, I moved out here to Indiana and attended Purdue University where I got involved with WILY Radio as a radio DJ and eventually as a member of their mobile crew. I learned a lot about song transitions and working crowds at dances. I earned my Bachelor's Degree in Professional Writing in 2005 and continued to work with WILY as an alum until the Fall of 2006. In 2007, I founded AMP Indiana with Jon.
Growing up, I was raised on "Oldies" and Greek music by my parents. I also listened to a lot of rock, R&B, and rap. I consider myself a child of the 90s. My favorite musical artists include Salt-N-Pepa, Mariah Carey, Run-DMC, No Doubt, Foo Fighters, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Nirvana, Matchbox 20, Aerosmith, Meat Loaf, and Van Halen.
